"Connect,Share and Get Enlighted"project consists of 7 partners from Turkey, Italy, Portugal,Slovakia, Poland,Crotia and Bulgaria. The concrete objectives of the partnership are many, but they all stem from one urgent need: to make new generation friendlier. The 4 of the schools are secondary vocational and technical schools ; the other 3 partners are general secondary schools in our project. With the effect of information age,on the one hand information is produced rapidly,on the other hand this information reach us by means of social media.Social media has an important effect in a society by providing them basic knowledge and information on all aspects of a single issue or on various issues of national and international level. The aim of this project is trying to mitigate the negative aspects of social media while improving upon the positive effects in students educational and social life.We will use all sorts of social media by using technology to equip students with skills essential for work and life in a 21st century global society. We will help the students to gain the right social media usage strategies. They will no longer use the media just an entertainment. The project will also be a bridge for every participant to develop EU citizenship .The students themselves will join groupwork activities with their partners across Europe through tasks like contributing to a blog, designing websites, uploading video presentations, and creating Facebook pages for the project. We will focus on key competences and skills and also encourage participation by promoting intercultural dialogues, social inclusion and solidarity. In terms of internationalism,we have chosen our partners from different countries and all have different cultures, from different life styles and from different locations. We believe this will increase our capacity and professionalism at international level.European Union level requires clear leadership and shared vision between authorities and stakeholders. The project includes activities that strenghen the cooperation between partner schools and promote the development ,testing and implementation of innovative practises.Since 21st Century learners need the ability to use data to problem solving and decision making and analytical thinking, the main role of the teenagers is media creators, not just consumers in this project.Making their own movies, preparing quiz shows, shooting documentries, choosing the project logo, questionnaires, giving ideas for the articles of European Newspaper and the presentation of it, and creating online content can help them develop critical thinking, social, technical and artistic skills. And also, through using blogs, chat rooms and becoming involved in message boards, such as on movie or news sites, the students will have a chance to develop their writing and reading skills. At the end of every activity, both the students and the teachers will comment on and meet their European partners via Skype, their facebook pages or Twitter. This wil motivate and engage them to be conscious ad accurate social media users and also, connecting with other partners in other locations will create powerful, authentic and motivating learning experience for the students.English will be the common language for every phase of the project and activities that will provide every participant to improve their foreign language. In joint educational project emphasis is placed upon both the unique and individual, as well as upon shared elements, thus strengthening the idea of a European identity. The project can be a window on the world for every participant and stakeholder because everybody will have new experiences outside their own communities. The activities in the project will stimulate and encourage the students creativity to find new ways for the best solutions. While commenting on,analysing and generating new ideas, they will look at things from different perspectives.Through interaction with friends from different cultures, the students build on their intercultural competences that will help them to react positively to differences and they will enhance the idea of a European identity. This will foster a sense of shared responsibility which is very important for conducting the project successfully.Different personalities, voices, values, and approaches spark interest. And also, the meetings will be the one of the most useful events for both teachers and students communicate in the foreign language. The European Commission fosters multilingualism and language learning because it promote intercultural dialogue and a more inclusive society and help the public to develop a sense of EU citizenship. With project meetings, students perspectives of the world,of different cultures and communities will hopefully change and progress in positive direction. The world will become more accessible and familiar to them and will encourage them to aspire to travel, learn languages and to celebrate different countries.
