PROJET
TERMINÉ
"Confiscation and social-economy to face criminal economies" is a long-term project for two volunteers, one from Italy and one from Poland, for a duration of 12 months.
The partners in this project are working to achieve similar goals: they want to inform and create awareness in our civil society about the limits of legality, about possibilities of active civil participation, and about the problem of finding identity in our own country as well as in Europe.
Mafia? Nein Danke! e.V. is active in Germany since 2009, especially in informing European citizens about the actual threat of the Mafia for the democratic culture in Germany and Europe. It organizes film screening, workshops, panel discussions on topics like “women and mafia“ and many more. It also organizes the "Fest der Legalität" (Festival of Legality) once a year between September and November.
In addition, the association aims at actively contributing to the German transposition of the European Directive about freezing and confiscation of instrumentalities and proceeds of crime in the European Union, in relation to the re-use for social purposes of the confiscated goods.
The association collaborates with many other Italian and European associations, who have a long experience with youth activities. These organizations have the aim of sharing information about legality, justice and the constitutional state. They achieve this mainly by organizing activities with young and adults people in schools and public events, as well through social cooperatives which organize and administer mafia's confiscated goods.
The EVS volunteers will be helped by a tutor and will have the possibility to create, follow and evaluate the current projects of the hosting association. Discussions with lawyers, artists, politicians and students about the topics mentioned before will be enabled, and later evaluated with the tutor in order to write informational texts for the press and for social medias.
The project is designed for young adults, with a basic knowledge of German language and a good fluency in either English or Italian.
Volunteers will have the possibility to develop different skills. For example they will learn how to work in team, how to deal with groups of adolescents and adults about issues of legality, democracy, economic crimes, money laundering and EU institution, they will widen their media skills. In addition, volunteers will learn how to effectively organize and structure events, as well as how to summarize, evaluate and present their results. They will be regularly encouraged to follow their personal goals and interests as well as the organization's ones.
