Competitiveness Through Exporting: E-Training for Trade Experts

The project will design and create an e-training platform to provide lessons on international trade and marketing for use by trade trainers, export managers and international marketers. The project's on-line learning platform will be in the form of a website comprising a variety of learning formats, including: a portal for trade trainers and international marketing lecturers to host their course content and materials on-line; transnational reports on markets; an 'Export Champions Guide' providing international examples of best practice; a one-stop guide introducing users to the concept of e-trading; a database of reference information on international trade for users and a collection of video interviews on relevant topics with export experts. The website will be multilingual, reflecting the participating partner languages and will include a discussion forum. Resources for the e-learning platform will be collected through primary research undertaken by the project partners and will reflect partners' existing experience with e-trading and new technologies. Research will include an assessment of existing on-line learning platforms. The platform will assist trainers in establishing and administrating courses on e-training for trade experts and will design tools to assess trainees’ performance as potential traders. The project partner consortium will exchange ideas online and will organise meetings, seminars and workshops, which will be rotated between partners. The project will undergo a process of constant validation and testing to ensure the workability and quality of its deliverables. Project results will be made available in a range of formats (print, CD-Rom) and via the project website, which will also act as the central medium for dissemination.
