Comparative SME-s Studies - International Comparative Studies and Course Development on SME-s

Building upon the results of a previously funded Leonardo da Vinci project (A European Diploma in SME Management), the Comparative SME-s Studies project will undergo the comparison of traditional SME working practices (legislation, financing conditions, training and re-training, validation of professional experience) in order to encourage the increased transnational mobility of graduates into SME's. A detailed framework of national SME systems will be established (defining tools and data collection methods). Actual descriptions will be based upon national data, analyses and indicators in each country, further relying upon co-operation with the Observatory of European SME's, CEDEFOP and the European Training Foundation, with results then being compared across the participating partner countries. Project results will comprise national quantitative and qualitative analyses, national descriptions of SME systems (in the form of modular teaching curricula) and an international comparative study. All products will initially be developed in EN and then further translated to remaining partner languages. All project results will be made available on paper and as web-based learning materials. Dissemination will rely upon existing partner networks, a dedicated project website, user groups within the partner countries, and a series of national and international workshops. The developed teaching curricula expect to be eventually incorporated into existing national systems.
