Communication for European Training Managers

Background:The adult educational system occupies a complex and important role in terms of socioeconomicgrowth, active citizenship and social responsibility. That is why effectiveinternal and external communications processes are fundamental for the developmentof innovative learning products and services which are attractive to potentialbeneficiaries. The communication issues in this sector are between the various staffinternal to the structure, other stakeholders and project partners at local, national andinternational level and adult learners (including disadvantaged people).The core objectives of the project are:- to structure a Grundtvig In-Service training course around internal and externalcommunication for Lifelong Learning Organization (LLO) managers to foster theircommunicative and team-building skills and to improve the quality of the courses andthe services marketed- to improve the communicative flows in the LLOs in order to encourage the effectivedevelopment of working processes, raising the total quality of LLO systems- to promote the LLO’s external communication networking processes with otherproviders and/or private and public organizations operating within the reference areaand to support the "internationalisation" of LLO’s processes in order to encourage bestpractices exchange with other countries and to cultivate intercultural awareness.Description of outputs, results and products:- local promotion and awareness seminars- analysis of the target needs through a structured questionnaire and analysis of thecollected data- definition of didactic methodology and didactic materials- two test-runs of the “Comet” training course- dissemination materials and project web site- intermediate local seminars- two In-Service training grants courses,- on-going and final management and evaluation reports- final conference in Austria.The impact envisaged:This proposal, in dealing with strategic communicative processes, aims at strengtheningadult education and training systems at a European level by helping the LLO managersto gain ownership of a set of complete and comprehensive communication skills whichthey can employ to reach personal, company and community goals and meet thechallenges of their profession.
