Common Religious Cultural Pathways (CORECT)
Date du début: 29 mars 2011, Date de fin: 28 mars 2013 PROJET  TERMINÉ

This project will exploit recent ICT advances in order to create innovative tools and methodologies facilitate the understanding, study and promotion of common Religious Cultural Heritage. By doing so, the project aims to bring closer the local communities, while stimulating the joint promotion of the regions. To facilitate this, the project will: (a) involve research for the recording and documentation of religious heritage monuments ; (b) design and develop ICT tools to deploy a range of applications with a multiplying effect for the study, promotion & educational use of the religious cultural heritage; (c) will engage local stakeholders by raising publicity for the project results. The tools will be developed to support multi-disciplinary teams of interested parties, from local populations, to educational institutions, churches and dioceses, including scholars and other interested users, in a pursuit to process & disseminate the richness of this common shared heritage. Expected Results: The Holy Dioceses participating in the project will initiate or expand a series of educational programs/applications, utilising the project-developed IT tools and content; as a result they will see an average increase in participation to their educational activities at the level of 40% at the end of the project. There is a number of monuments, churches and museums of Eccelsiastic Arts in the Dioceses regions; through the project dissemination activities and the deleloped IT-based tools, a 20% increase in the number of visitors is forecasted to be achieved just be the end of the project. The project will fund focused research & development for the benefit of all partners and the wider societal community. Trough this funding, new job opportunities will emerge, at the equivalent of 16 full person/year. As a result of the project valorisation actions, it is expected that these jobs will be self-sustainable with the potential to create additional ones beyond the end of the project. The new employees will be involved in the educational, study & dissemination activities of the museums & monuments. On the other hand the educational & research institutions will increase their R&D potential and collaboration links with local communities, creating new project opportunities.
