The main objective of this project is to instigate and develop a childhood obesity prevention programme in the educational community. The programme must achieve a double objective: That the proposed measures are implememted correctly and that it is sustainable over time. It will be developed both within the school and the local community, calling upon external support to ensure economic viability. The programme will be integrated into the daily lives of the students and the school community. To achieve maximum effect, the involvement of the whole school community will be necessary. It is a search for an improvement of the quality of life of all involved. Primary schools from Spain, Romania, The Chech Republic, Macedonia, Bulgaria, Portugal and Poland will be taking part in the project. It is focusing on school children from the ages of three to twelve years old. The activities being developed in this project will be to achieve: - The choice of an adequate diet. - The practise of physical activity in a regular and controlled manner. - Continual psychological support from the school and the family to consolidate and improve healthy habits. The methodology used to implement the objectives of the project will be of a fun, or ludic nature, introducing new educational and curricular concepts that develop physical excercise and healthy eating. any modifications, if necessary, the modification of educational and psychological aspects that are in accordance with meeting the aforementioned objectives. The results will consist of a series of documents to integrate the Educative Project of the centre, in which dietry habits and sports conducive to a healthy lifestyle are refered to. Digital support of the practical and theoretical material are provided ( web page, educational platform, blog...) to guide the teaching staff on how to carry out the activities in the subsequent years. The anticipated result of our project is the attainment of a change in dietry habits and the practise of sport in all sectors of the participating educational community. The long term benefits achieved are an improvement in the quality of life and a reduction in illnesses related with obesity, like diabetes, heart disease, psychomotor problems... The ultimate end will be to train the future generations into transmitters of healthy lifestyle habits.
