CODE CAMPING - Cooperation for the developpment of training and employment in the camping industry

This project will enable 6 partners from companies in the camping sector (trade unions) and vocational training centers (apprenticeship) in the tourism sector to create a transnational network and allow a differents sectors to cooperate in order to promote the development of innovation, vocational training and employment in the camping industry. The project will last 18 months and will host four transnational meetings and two joint training events in France and Croatia.Europe is the first tourist destination in the world and tourism, a key sector of the European economy, generates over 10% of EU GDP (directly or indirectly) and employs 9.7 million people. The Tourism industries in Europe, particularly in the coastal areas, are also important for growth and employment, especially for young people, given that 45% of employees in the tourism sector are aged between 16 and 35.Therefore, the actors must develop specific strategies based on policies and innovative and attractive products to encourage tourists to travel off-season.Through the exchange of good practice, the project aims both to promote innovation benefits to maintain the competitiveness of the sector, for example through the development of new products such as "camp-stop."Furthermore this cooperation should encourage employability at local and regional level and identify new approaches in terms of vocational training development in the framework of a co-construction of actions meeting the needs of the camp sites. The project responds particularly to the European priority in promoting learning on the workplace, through apprenticeship and quality training devices, facilitating the transition from school or unemployment to professional life.The exchange between European partners in the transnational meetings and immersion in different national and local circumstances and settings will allow, in particular small and medium enterprises to work innovatively. In their cooperation, the partners will seek to answer various questions:1. Concerning the actions and activities implemented in the four countries to develop the outdoor accommodation sector, among them the answers to the demands of international customers: are there different practices? Are they transferable from one country to another? Who are the key playersactors involved to promote innovation and change? What are the skills required to meet these needs?2. As regards training and qualification of the personnel, with a view to sustainable employment and in order to accompany innovations in progress mentioned above: What kind of training is provided by companies? What are the national and regional frameworks? Do the companies in the camping sector participate in the creation, implementation and funding of certified training and / or qualifications?The transnational nature of the project, and its crosscutting approach will enable partners to work on a comparative approach and to broaden theirs experiences. It is justified by the same business needs detected by the need to adapt to new increasingly demanding customers, lengthen tourist season, remain competitive, meet specific skill needs in the camping industry .Expected production at the end of the project will be:- A summary / catalog of measures / innovative actions implemented to improve the competitiveness of campsites at local and regional level- A concept draft to extend the tourist season and therefore the activity durations- Guidelines for vocational workbased training modules likely to accompany current changes
