“Remember the Childhood” Youth Exchange Project was organized by Turkey Karaelmas Child Games Studio Youth Group in Zonguldak/Turkey on 17-26 April 2015 with the participation of the 4 different organizations from Bulgaria, Denmark Romania and Turkey. Each partner participated the project with 6 participants and 1 group leader. In total, there were 24 participants and 4 group leaders. It was used Non-Formal Education, Peer Education, Learning by Doing, Intergenerational Activity and Cultural Diversity as the techniques in the Exchange. Our project aims to disseminate and teach & learn Traditional Child Games, one of the most important activity of childhood period and also the importance and the reality of how socially, pedagogically, psychologically was highlighted. Today, most of the children are deprived of many basic activities and events of the childhood period. The reason of this can be said like urbanization, losing the importance of cultural values, protectionist attitude of the parents. During the Youth Exchange, each partner brought Traditional Children Games and Dances from their own culture with their meanings, rules, aims and they were thought to the project participants and local children. There were 40 small children who came from Basögretmen Sükrü Yavuz Secondary School in Zonguldak. At the end of the project, “Europe Child Games Hand Book” was prepared and the distribution and dissemination of this book was made to whom it may concern. Additionally, 23 April is celebrated as National Sovereignty and Child Festival in Turkey each year. This date is very important for Turkish people and Turkish Children. In this date, we prepared with the Project participants “Europe Child Games Public Show”; to present what we learned during the project which was shown to the local public. Meeting of the European Cultures certainly got the attention of the people about the project topic. In Long Period, our project will emphasis the importance of the Childhood activities and why we have forget those values while growing-up. Child Games can contribute to our Children's progress and development. With this project we can raise awareness to this social problem with all those activities.
