The main concern of our project is child brides..We will discuss pedophilia, adolescent fertility, how to avoid early marriage and pregnancy, and reproductive and mental health of teenagers and youths, and we will try to make a consensus regarding legal arrangements..Our starting point is the data obtained from World Health Organization..Accordingly, it is stated that worldwide 16 million young women, between the ages of 15-19, have given birth and this number composes 11 percent of all births..Our priority is to avoid early marriage and the pregnancy in childhood, the size of early marriages and is to determine radical solutions regarding this subject in Turkey. Police records show that every one of each three marriages is a child marriage; more than one of these girls that has been married off are second wives, one thousand and three hundred marriages have been performed every year and one hundred thousand of these are child marriages, marriage age has been decreased to 12 and Turkey takes a place among the first ten countries in the world regarding child marriage..Thereby, at this point, early marriage appears as a problem, which avoids the usage of human rights, decreases the woman statue and takes children?s fundamental rights especially education. In this case, this sort of marriage is a concern that should be up against in Turkey, where gender mainstreaming is aimed for. Project admits meeting 500 participants and final solution as priority. In the project 450 teens (300 girls, 150 boys), 10 Limited Teens and 40 companions will take place. Teens will be brought to ETU Meeting Room from their schools by private buses and after meeting they will be taken back to their schools. For the Project documentary film will be prepared, and visual theme will be featured with poster, brochure, gazette and billboard. We have four seminars? 1) Avoiding from Early Marriage, Early Pregnancy and Pedophilia. 2) Adolescent Fertility and Its Results. 3) Child Abuse and Children Act. 4) Gender Mainstreaming? As being decision makers, Family and Social Policies Minister Ay?enur ?slam, Head of Committee on Equality of Opportunity for Women and Men Azize Sibel Gönül, Minister of Education Nabi Avc?, Minister of Health Mehmet Müezzino?lu, Minister of International Affairs Efkan Ala, Minister of Religious Affairs Mehmet Görmez, regional representatives and central-local managers will be ready? A questionnaire study, outputs of them and their print as a book will also be ready? After all with broad participated press conference, the results will be shared to public opinion? With this Project, while concerning ??Child Brides??, application points involving legal arrangements, increase in the rate of school girls, improvement of programs in socio-cultural factors, notification of adolescents and teenagers about sexual health will be created. Youngsters, who will be donated with formal training method and education, will be helpful on the issues especially in fighting with poverty, gender equality and changing traditional feudal structure? The Project also contributes to remove the disagreements between civil law, criminal law and children protection law? A social reflexion will be created with the help of politicians, bureaucrats, business world, trades, local pres and citizens.
