CLIL per la scuola del futuro: "I confini della mia lingua sono i confini del mio mondo". (L. Wittgenstein)
Date du début: 1 sept. 2014, Date de fin: 31 août 2016 PROJET  TERMINÉ

The Comprehensive Istitute of Savignano sul Rubicone, has been committed to the development of a European dimension through numerous projects, including, Comenius multilateral partnerships, a multi year partnership with a French school and in-service training (LLP Comenius). Looking towards the future, we aim to activate a CLIL project (Content and Language Integrated Learning) in English and French to strengthen our commitment to European integration. The presence of numerous students from throughout the European Community and extra-European countries, makes it necessary to create multi-lingual teaching and learning environments, capable of ensuring equal opportunities, cultural diversity and equality of rights, a context of strong intercultural integration. Our project aims to enable the teaching of disciplines in CLIL methods to raise the linguistic-communicative competence of teachers and students and to strengthen methodological and didactic skills. In general, educators aim to progressively improve their knowledge of English and French, learning to use disciplinary materials in a foreign language and acquiring the mastery of specialized vocabulary. In specific, teachers purpose to learn how to integrate foreign language and content using new methodological and didactic strategies to design innovative CLIL modules in synergy with the foreign language educators. The CLIL methodology has the potential to raise the quality of teaching and learning and to stimulate innovative methodology and improving the spirit of internationalization of our Institution with a view to lifelong learning. Our CLIL project in French and English is divided into three main phases: an initial phase of introduction to CLIL methodology, implemented by the Ladins laboratory of the University of Ca' Foscari in Venice. In preparation for this project we have outlined a training program which will be carried out during the first year with a specialized team from the University, in conjunction with general language training, English and French, managed by foreign language teachers of the Institute together with an external expert. The next phase, which will take place in the second year of the project, will cover specific training abroad, including a 14 day advanced CLIL course, divided into subject areas and a job shadowing experience for a restricted number of teachers, at two partner institutes: Thomas Moore Catholic School, Purley, UK, and Collège Aristide Briand, Domont, France. Finally, the teachers of all grade levels and disciplines of the Comprehensive Institute, will activate the new CLIL methodology and acquired skills in their respective classrooms. The total teaching staffs involved in the project include 25 members, of different age and gender, from all the Schools in the Comprehensive Institute. Our group aims to achieve this important project in a collaborative spirit and organizational efficiency, drawing on the combined expertise of the internal foreign language teachers, native speakers, specialized laboratories and leading Italian Universities. The training program will be implemented through a innovative learning method, on & off-line, during the first year, followed by a full immersion language and methodological course in foreign schools, French and English, in the second year. Our CLIL project provides a positive impact in at least four specific groups: teachers, students, school & local community. It will enable teachers to increase the level of methodological-didactic competence and foreign language knowledge, in the perspective of professional growth and inter-cultural spirit. It will also encourage the students' mastery of foreign languages, to nurture their interest in a multi-cultural society and to build an idea of European citizenship. Finally, our Comprehensive Istitute will draw significant benefits from the project through a process of methodological innovation in both teaching and learning. The project will enable the Institute to disseminate with more energy in the local territory concerning diversity and intercultural awareness with a spirit of internationalization that knows how to overcome cultural boundaries.
