CLIL and Effective Teaching Strategies

The submitter and co-ordinator of the project is Obchodná akadémia Dušana Metoda Janotu in Čadca, Slovakia, which is planning to involve 2 teachers of bilingual branch of study (Slovak - English) into international mobility activities that are intended to be realized in the courses - Teaching Skills for Teachers; CLIL course.The usage of the method CLIL within the teaching of vocational subjects (Economics, Commodity Science, Correspondence and Typing) at Obchodná akadémia DMJ v Čadci is focused to strengthen the teaching of English language which is inevitable for our graduates to succeed on European labour market. Within the project we would like our 2 teachers undergo teaching training courses in the receiving organization Tellus Group in Plymouth in order to develop and reinforce their professional skills and competence, broaden their horizons. Teachers can improve their English language skills and learn how to use new innovative and creative methods in teaching with the aim to improve motivation of students. Experience of teachers is to be converted into methodical meterials, brochures which will be used by other teachers in international context. One of the main objectives of the project is to provide our teachers with an opportunity to enhance their professional knowledge and competence as well as their language and social skills in real environment by active training in the course of mobilities.Teachers have to improve and enhance their professional knowledge within the requirement to prepare students to handle school leaving exam according to Common European Framework of Reference - developing reading, writing, listening and speaking skills in the language level C1.Undertaking the courses teachers will be able to prepare students to succeed and to adapt to changes on European labour market. The mobility activities will take place in Tellus College in Plymouth during 2 weeks of July/August 2016.In the future the school is planning to keep on and enhance co-operation with partner organization Tellus Group.
