First of all, this project named "circus on top" came from the desire of two european circus school ( Passing fr and Pré en Bulle be) to share a common adventure. In the summer 2013 a first informal meeting between the two school happened at the European Juggling Convention in Toulouse. Since, both school were eager to met again on a real project. Passing and Pré en Bulle decided to create with young people coming from both school an european exchange. Both liked to create an opportunity for young people to opened their mind and discover other culture. "Circus on top" was definitly the occasion for twenty young people to grow up, discover plenty of things and learn on an informal way about different culture. Moreover, "Circus on top" was a collective adventure around a passion: circus art. Around circus activities, we promoted cultural differences as a strength for individual and collective wealth. The aim of this project was to: 1) Promote a better community life ; good inter-cultural relation-ships 2) Promote personal growth by informal learning and develop autonomy by encouraging responsibility early on 3) Promote citizenship from local to european level questionning collective organizations 4) Show the local patrimony of the national parc of Pyrenées and the local cultural life 5) Bring participants to exchange around circus art The group was composed of twenty young people from thirteen to twenty years old, 9 female and 11 male. There was 8 from Belgium and 12 from France. Five adults all circus teachers diplomed lead the exchangemaking sure that the programme was followed. They constently pushed the group to the goals of the project. The project was build up around four activities programs followed by all participants. Those programs respond to the goals of the project. The first activity program was build aroud the idea of showing from the inside diferent, technics and skills needed to work professionaly in the cultural entertainement. Preparation of a show (lightning, music, technical installation...), circus top building and folding, live show are different times in this activity program. The second one was based on the discovery of local patrimony and cultural life. Montain climbing, cultural visit of Cauterets and visit of loch of Gaube are differents times in this activity program. The third was based on circus art sharing and transmission. By sharing their experiences and skills in workshops with others participants and, on other time, with tourists and habitants, they experienced whatis to teachand share skills. They undertook responsabilities for others and shared their passion. At last, the fourth program, "circus and artistic creation" was the occasion to experience a professional artistic creation from the inside by doing the same work a professional troup do (they created, advertised, performed, lightned a show). In this program they also watched a professional show and talked to artists from the company. "Circus on top" was real success. The collective life during the week was rich and as espected a real tool to push forward our goals. All the tasks (meals preparation, cleaning, washing..) were collective and shared democratically by participants themselves. The accompanying team helping decision any time necessary. Fun times around cultural differencies were organized before hand by french and belge people and a good start point to talk about cultural differencies and to engage the group dynamic.
