Ciné'cessaire, les portes sont ouvertes !
Date du début: 1 août 2014, Date de fin: 28 févr. 2015 PROJET  TERMINÉ

This project, organised by the ‘Centre de Beaumotte’ association, aimed to bring together 19 youths from 3 different countries over 9 days from 27/09 to 05/10 2014 in Franche -Comte, France. The different social backgrounds and upbringings of the young people who made up group greatly enriched their exchanges and creations. This project was based on cinematographic practice and creating a series of short films about travel and mobility. In a society that forces the consumption of images in bulimic fashion, volunteers set off on a journey through which they learnt to reuse these images, to understand their importance and to use them in accordance with rules and with the human in mind. These workshops will also be an opportunity to make young people reflect on citizenship. Even though the production of these short films was not supervised by professionals, the expectations of each participant to create the project in pairs or groups could be put to good use. The ‘Centre de Beaumotte’ has a steady supply of local partners (associations, volunteers, local institutions), which ensured the young people both inter-cultural encounters and creative support in producing their films. Popular education and peace education served as the inspiration for the methods used during the different workshops and stages of creation, allowing each participant to find their place in the project. The group was housed on the premises of the association and its resources (kitchen, bathrooms, shared spaces) were made available. To encourage autonomy and initiative, the participants were responsible for managing daily life and leisure time.
