Cidadania ativa após lesão cerebral
Date du début: 1 déc. 2014, Date de fin: 30 nov. 2015 PROJET  TERMINÉ

The project "Active citizenship after brain injury” is related with the qualification and socio-professional inclusion of people with disabilities, particularly those persons who after an acquired brain injury (ABI) require support to adapt to a new way of functioning and to reorganize their life project, namely professional. The specificity of this functioning condition justifies the need for rehabilitation programs which integrate multiple knowledge and are operationalized by a multidisciplinary team as a means to answer to the challenges that occur at different levels: motor, psychological, vocational, educational, professional and social. CRPG - Centro de Reabilitação Profissional de Gaia is the only entity in Portugal with an intensive neuropsychological rehabilitation program. This program has already been identified by EUROFOUND - European Foundation for the Improvement of Living and Working Conditions as a case study. The main objective of this project is to engage with good practices in the holistic approach to rehabilitation after ABI, namely long-term community-based services. The group who will be participating in this project is composed by 8 staff of CRPG who are in charge of delivering services to people with ABI. This is a multidisciplinary team including different professional profiles such as doctors, psychologists, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, trainers and socio-professional technicians. The main activity is a 3 days visit to Mutualité Française Anjou-Mayenne, specifically SAMSAH Arcau Anjou service and some local and national partners. The program was designed to allow the participants to come familiar in situ with how to implement community-based services in a long term perspective. Presentation sessions with professionals are scheduled, integrating moments of sharing and discussion between both teams. It is also planned a workshop to present the training program for professional caregivers, as well as a second workshop about home support services, both critical issues to enable the socio-professional integration of people with ABI. The two entities will work in full collaboration to prepare this project, with the active involvement of the participants. To support and maximize the visit, to each participant will be given a dossier containing information regarding the logistics and presentation of services to be visited (target audience, main activities, contextual data, etc.). The project monitoring and evaluation will be undertaken at different levels: evaluation of the learning outcomes (evaluation of the knowledge and practical competences acquired by the participants); evaluation of the objectives-function (knowledge and competences deployment into their professional practices); evaluation of the organizational impact (organizational changes due to the project implementation). Evaluation will also include the results achieved at service delivery of persons with ABI, both at individual (success rate of the individual plan, results of assessment instruments), and group level (through the evaluation of the impact of services on quality of life of CRPG clients). With this mobility the group project intended to meet and contact directly with tools, methodologies and / or programs that can be adapted to Portuguese reality. At local / regional level, the impacts are related mainly on the improvement of the only existing services of neuropsychological rehabilitation focusing on socio-professional inclusion in the region and in the country, addressed at more than 50 people, being expected a significant increase in this number. Nationally, the transfer of know-how and practices will be ensured through the working group "Support to the professional integration of victims of traumatic brain injury", coordinated by IEFP, IP – Instituto do Emprego e Formação Profissional, I.P. (Employment and Vocational Training Institute) which was set up to design a model of intervention and socio-professional integration of this target audience, thus being able to reach more than 500 people and their families. Internationally, this project will strength the collaboration between different entities working with people with ABI, which will enhance future collaborations, transfer of know-how and implementation of innovation projects. The activity and the respective results will be disseminated through CRPG website and among its national and international partner organizations.
