Chantons l'Europe
Date du début: 1 juil. 2016, Date de fin: 30 juin 2018 PROJET  TERMINÉ

Our school is situated in a rural area and is suffering from a decline. As a matter of fact, even if the academic level is quite good, as is the socio-economic level, we are having a significant issue with cultural openness. In this period of economic crisis and security concerns, following the Paris terror attacks and the increase in migrants from war-torn countries, we have found that most of the fear and tension comes from a lack of understanding. We believe that it is important to put our efforts into keeping Europe open. We would like to use music as our tool to achieve this, particularly the choir. We hope to, through a partnership with the local music school, share part of our cultural heritage with other schools throughout Europe. Using "etwinning" as a platform, we plan to contact other European schools who, like us, wish to share a part of their culture through music. Thirty eight students in 2016 and forty five the following year will be involved with this project. We strive to develop, in our students, a sense of curiosity necessary for all citizens of Europe. The connections we make with these schools will allow the students to be the links to knowledge from abroad. The teaching staff will be formed based on the linguistic needs in order to facilitate the exchange with European colleagues. It will be in two English speaking countries in order to broaden language skills and most importantly improve cultural competence. At the end of the project, fifty students, thirty eight of whom will have had followed the project for two years, will be, from an early age, aware of cultural diversity and richness. We hope that the impact on this demographic is significant. It cannot be objectively measured in the short term, it is a long term investment in civil and moral education and it is the central focus of our official instruction.
