Chance and Challenge -Improve the assistance for children and youth victims of human trafficking by developing innovative support programs

In the struggle to achieve full recovery and reintegration to society after enduring various forms of exploitation, trafficked children and youth go through a challenging stage full of obstacles: lack of specialized professionals with a child-friendly attitude; insufficient assistance services due to lack of funds; lack of innovative approaches that could help better the target group during the reintegration process rather than a simple classic counselling/information about rights and obligations; the working procedures in NGOs and institutions are not properly adapted to the age, needs of children and youth; lack of proper co-ordination and co-operation at national and transnational level between NGOs, authorities, professionals from origin and destination countries. Improve the assistance of children and youth victims can be achieved by developing a human resource of professionals able to use in their daily work with the target group of innovative support programs (as peer to peer and coaching support) which can produce more positive results in relation with the reintegration, rehabilitation of the target group rather than a simple, classic counselling on the rights and obligations. Project's objectives are: 1. Strengthening the knowledge level of professionals, by developing innovative support programs and teaching them how to use it in the daily work activity with children and youth victims of human trafficking. 2. Enhance the cross-border cooperation among professionals from origin-transit-destination countries where children and youth are subjected to various forms of exploitation. 3.Improve quality of life, the reintegration process of children and youth victims of human trafficking by receiving support at a high standard level from specialized professionals using innovative support programs. Project's activities: A 1. Project coordination and management activities A1.1.First coordination project meeting. A1.2.Skype supervision meetings. A1.3.Second coordination meeting. A.1.4.Third coordination meeting. A 1.5. Fourth coordination meeting A 1.6. Fifth coordination meeting A 1.7. Sixth coordination meeting A.1.8. Report activity. A.1.9. Evaluation activity. A.1.10.Publish press releases, newsletters A 2. Joint staff trainings events in Romania, Spain, Czech Republic to familiarize professionals with the use of innovative support programs for the assistance of children and youth victims of human trafficking. A. 2.1 Develop project's online platform: IT toll will have a public area and an online forum for professionals. Among its functions it will be also an e-learning tool for professionals. A 2.2. Develop trainings manual. Contain information about how to use new support methods in relation with children, youth victims’ assistance (as peer to peer support and coaching support). The manual will be created in English and translated in all partners’ national languages. A 2.3 Organize joint staff training event in Romania A 2.4. Organize joint staff training event in Spain A 2.5. Organize joint staff training event in Czech Republic A3. Develop good practice guide A4. Create seminars' poster A 5. Organize seminars in Romania, Czech Republic and Spain, as multiplier events. Direct target group: Romanian, Spanish and Czech professionals (social workers and psychologists) working in partners NGOs and from other stakeholders (NGOs, institutions active in the field of assistance for victims of human trafficking). For the joint staff training events at least 30 professionals from partners’ organizations will be taken in consideration and for the seminars (as multiplier events) at least 50 professionals working for other relevant stakeholders (NGOs, institutions). Indirect target group: children, youth victims of human trafficking. Their assistance will be improved as a result of creating a proper human resource of professionals able to provide services to high quality standards, apply peer to peer and coaching support as alternative programs comparing with the classical methods already used for their support during the reintegration process in society. Results that will be achieved: 1. An improvement of the professional knowledge on how to support in a friendly manner using innovative methods the children and youth victims of human trafficking during their reintegration process in society. 2. An enhanced transnational cooperation among professionals from origin-transit-destination countries, through joint staff training events, seminars, development of an online platform that among its multiple purposes will have also to provide to specialists access to relevant data regarding victims assistance in the project's countries, exchange of good practices in relation to cases assisted. 3. An improved quality of life and of the reintegration process for children and youth victims as result of the existence of specialists able to provide proper support using innovative methods/programs.
