The purpose of this Interreg-Tacis joint project is to improve the well-being of women inthe Murmansk area who suffer from violence in the family or in a close relationship andthose who are engaged in prostitution, and to promote equality among women. A crisiscentre will be launched and an operation model developed in order to produce supportservices through which prostitution can be prevented and women supported in theirefforts to release themselves from prostitution and violence. Rehabilitating measures willbe developed in order to relieve the consequences of prostitution and violence.Cooperation between and expertise and networking of the crisis centres in theMurmansk area will be improved, the situation with children and young people in streetprostitution analysed and the availability of the existing support services explored.
