Project „Cesty k porozumeniu“ was oriented at young people. Participants of project were the young adults from our partnership organization CVJM in Germany. The aim of this project was to find a way how to connect young people from our country with young people from other countries. Its aim was to foster mutual understanding among young people in two different countries, to contribute in development of the quality of support systems for youth activities and the capabilities of civil society organizations in the youth field and to assist in promotion of the European cooperation in the youth field. As part of the project execution we have performed different activities in which a link between our culture and the culture of the volunteer’s country was created. Activities of the volunteers will took place at local, regional and national level. At each level is focus on activities with children and youth. At the local level (in Dolny Kubín) volunteers did most of their work (various youth meetings, sports activities, leisure time activities, etc.). Within the regional level , participants have seen and were a part of the work of our organization and other components of the SEM in the Orava region. Within the national level, participants were involved in such activities nationwide(SEMFEST Youth Festival, SEM conference, nationwide sports Olympics). For the reason that volunteer’s many activities reach more than just local level and SEM member circles, EDS participants were a benefit for a wider group of people. Service of young person who is willing to spend some time abroad will also be a good example for our people to encourage them to become a volunteer at the local level, and even increasing openness for mobility within EU region. One of the added values, which we implemented during the project is that young people can realize their place in society , but also their important role, they can become a tool for the dissemination of human equality , human rights and democracy, that is here for everyone .
