Establish the Centre Intermondes , designed in 2002 by the sociologist Jean Duvignaud aims and animate in La Rochelle, in conjunction with members of the local and regional cultural life, a meeting place of artists and designers . Its aim is to promote their networking through artist residencies , mostly foreigners. Through multidisciplinary meetings and debates among French artists , strangers and cultural professionals , it is reviving an ongoing process of critical questioning to initiate a public debate on contemporary art and cultural policy . This is an opportunity to present the works in various forms (exhibition, concert, performance, artist residency , festival ... ) and to allow the public to discover these artistic emergence . Many actions are developed to facilitate these meetings and expand the public, especially young audiences ( cultural democratization , arts education ) . The Centre has Intermondes wish today to change these actions and the desire to better communicate strengthening of mediation experiences and inventing other forms of meetings. The involvement of a young European under his volunteering can provide additional and relevant look at the practice of mediation and communication of the association. It can contribute to the development of workshops, meetings and exchanges of innovative share its experience, cultural identity and its own approach to art and culture . On the other hand , the Intermondes Centre develops many partnerships both local , national and international regional, but , more exceptional , at European level . Thus , opportunities for decentralized cooperation could be initiated with the young in European Voluntary Service and enable new cultural exchanges with our Centre and the City of La Rochelle (in the framework of the Convention which unites the French Institute in the City of Rochelle, the development of European projects is a priority ), the Intermondes Centre is the operator of the city of La Rochelle for national -scale international projects such as the "foreign Seasons" which in 2013 and 2014 cross Years France - Vietnam
