Material surfaces offer quite some opportunities for technological innovations because they are at the heart of many physical-chemical processes (catalytic surfaces), make materials smart (function, modification) and protect them. Interfaces also play an important role and affect the macroscopic behaviour of the material.The overall goal of the project is to control the synthesis of thin oxide films and metal supported nanoparticles, whose remarkable properties enable the creation of many catalytic applications.Catalysts make it possible to keep the temperature and pressure at a moderate level during molecule production which results in less industrial energy consumption. By pooling their expertise on catalyst synthesis,the partners can develop an innovative and promising method with huge industrial application potential.
