The main role of universities is to provide human resources for research & innovation. At the same time, universities should be in the avant-garde of research in order to provide high quality education. In all CA countries, there is still a need in more effective provision of resources for research &innovation for universities to play their unique & crucial role in building the knowledge society.Project’s wider aims are to support capacity building of HEIs for education, research & innovation (ERI); to enhance the quality & relevance of HE and networking among HEIs & research institutions across CA in the area of Environmental Health (EH); and to improve their capacity for sustainable international cooperation.Specific objectives are:- Training of trainers in ERI in EH;- Establishment of Centres for Education, Research & Innovation in Environmental Health (CERIEH) capable to deliver training and innovative research;- Development of PhD programs in EH & courses on research methods;- Provision of QA for CERIEHs, PhD programme & training courses on research methods;- Establishment of web-based Central Asian network & Forum for ERI in EH.Outputs:- 6 universities’ CERIEHs with human & material resources;- Trained trainers in ERI in EH;- Web-based CA network & Forum for ERI in EH;- PhD programmes in EH- 12 recruited PhD students- 6 approved courses on research methods- 60 trainees of courses on research methods- 6 initiated innovative research projects- International conference with presented results- CANERIEH’s brochures & other publications- Project reportOutcomes:- Enhanced English knowledge of PCs’ project participants- Innovative teaching techniques mastered by PCs’ project participants- Innovative research methods gained by PCs consortium members- Mutual cultural enrichment & sustainable international partnership between EU & PCs partners- Enhanced cooperation & transnational networking between CA & EU academia- Increased academic mobility.
