CapitALL - Connecting Capitals, Building Europe
Date du début: 1 sept. 2015, Date de fin: 31 mars 2016 PROJET  TERMINÉ

"CapitALL - Connecting Capitals, Building Europe" was a short-term group EVS project between 3 organizations: SPIN Association from Portugal, acting as Sending organization of 15 volunteers from Portugal in Activity 1 and as Hosting Organization for 15 Romanian volunteers in Activity 2; the Hosting Organization from Romania, Share Federatia which hosted 10 volunteers from Portugal on Activity 1; the Hosting Organization Centrul Voluntariat Cluj Napoca which is also from Romania and hosted 5 volunteers from Portugal on Activity 1 and acted as Sending Organization for Activity 2, sending 15 volunteers to Portugal to be hosted by Spin Association. Both Activities took place on the frames of the 2015's European Capitals of Youth and Volunteerism in Cluj Napoca and Lisbon and counted on the direct support of the organizers of these two large scale events, both in integration of the EVS volunteers in the program of activities and in recognizing their added value to it. The organization responsible for the coordination of the project was Spin Association. Both Activity 1 and 2 lasted 4 weeks and took place in Lisbon-Portugal and in Cluj-Napoca-Romania. In total there were 30 volunteers involved, 15 from Romania and 15 from Portugal and up to 20 were youngsters facing fewer opportunities in life. Participants were involved in the activities and projects developed by the three Hosting organizations within the frames of Youth Participation, Youth policies, European Awareness, Volunteerism and creativity themes. They have also been engaged in the European Youth and Volunteerism Capitals and their local partners’ program activities, in order to contribute with European dimension by exchange of views, approaches and suggesting implementation of new activities promoting intercultural learning and dialogue among all. The methods used throughout the project were non-formal education methods focused on artistic, participatory and learner-centered approaches. Expected results included the improvement of quantity and quality of the three HO's work for the development and well being of hosting communities, with strong positive impact on all EVS participants and beneficiaries of HO's actions. Volunteers also had the opportunity to experience a different culture and way of living, to master many useful tools and competences in the main fields of work, to learn about organization of large scale events, to improve their skills in intercultural communication and learning of Portuguese and Romanian language. Thus, they benefited from this mobility by developing their social, soft, professional skills and competences which will increase the chances of finding better job opportunities and/or creating their own in the future. In a long term perspective, CapitALL was expected to foster positive change of mentalities for updated European awareness: local community will be more sensitive to European debated issues, recognize youngsters and volunteer’s work role in building European society and contribute for awareness raising of its related policies, in a non-formal and creative way.
