This project will be carried out in our public school, called Nuestra Señora de la Cabeza, in Maria (Adalucia).
The teaching staff is composed of 18 teachers and the center has students from 3 to 14 years, infant, primary and 1st-2nd secondary education.
Firstly, a previous study in order to know the strengths and weaknesses has been taken into account, to defeat them and improve our results. Thus, some necessities have been detected, being them:
- To improve the level and being competent in English language and French language.
- To know new methods and methodological approaches, activities and tools based on CLIL, bilingualism, as well as ICTs; in order to develop a better teaching performance.
Secondly and according to the selection of people who are going to participate, we must say that the main requirements are that they are going to be permanent and non- permanent teachers in the school; participating in our bilingual programme or in other European projects and their level of English of the European framework of languages.
Furthermore, the activities to develop are going to be closely linked to our necessities previously specified, i.e., structured courses in a foreign language, which mother tongue is English. The topics of the courses are: development of English language, ICTs and CLIL. However, there are some extra activities that should be taken into account, such as developing and improving teaching programmes and performances (using new knowledge acquired in the courses), widely spreading knew knowledge by using etwinning space, or some workshops with other teachers from our region. All in all, these activities have been deeply designed so as to achieve some educational principals of European policy and the methodology to be used will make people to overcome some barriers and will make them to cooperate, collaborate, participate actively, among others.
Finally, we expect positive results, such as the improvement of our students English command, better and updated teaching performances. On the other hand, we believe in the possibility to take charge of spreading all this information; not only in our school, but also including some other schools from our region, as well as people from our town.
