The project was aimed to integrate disabled persons and/or young people having fewer opportunities in a normal sports activity, to promote healthy living and education through sports, active participation in society and social inclusion. Our project sought to make it possible for persons with disabilities to take part in a scuba-diving experience. This project targeted 20 participants. This project took place with the help of a professional scuba diving instructor who supervised our training as divers and the activities with the disabled persons. In fact the coach assigned for the implementation of this project is a scuba diving instructor. We are a group of young people, 11 in total (E.R.R.C. youths), one of us has a disability and have experienced fewer opportunities. We have come together to set up this project. Thus our idea was to take young people coming from the different cultural and social contexts to work together so as to:1. Get trained in disabled people diving by ISDA trainer ( international scuba diving academy) .2. Organize and produce material for the scuba diving experiences, - underwater cue cards, special adapted aids etc.3. Organise several scuba diving sessions , for people with disabilities. Sessions took place after initial instruction.4 Organized tailor made sessions so as to integrate less privileged, young people especially those with special needs in scuba activities thanks to the use of specially adapted diving equipment5. Thanks to this initiative promoted social inclusion and active participation in societyThe project was centred around three main themes that is education through sport and outdoor activities, education towards health living and accessibility to sport for persons with disability. In this project a group of E.R.R.C. youths introduced scuba diving to disabled persons and other disadvantaged youths from, the local community. In this way the project aimed to integrate less privileged persons with other youths. The scuba diving sessions were the medium to achieve these main themes. The project sought to develop solidarity and to promote tolerance and acceptance among the young people involved in the project. The project was a way for the inclusion for young people with fewer opportunities access to the youth program besides promoting the European theme for volunteering. The venues for this project being proposed will be held in various areas round Malta and Gozo. The implementation of this project from the preparation stages till the final stages took 8 months. At all stages of the project we focused on non formal learning and a learning by doing approach. There were no majoy changes. However we did expect more collaboration form one particular organization that takes care of people with special needs. However we still managed to reach out the individuals concerned
