Business in Europe Hosting Apprenticeships for Youth
Date du début: 1 sept. 2016, Date de fin: 31 août 2018 PROJET  TERMINÉ

Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), have a big role and potential in combatting youth unemployment by providing development and employment opportunities, such as offering apprenticeships. SMEs however often lack information, resources and/or experience in providing high quality apprenticeships. To support SMEs this BEHAppY project aims to create support structures in the form of European & national learning networks. The project objectives are:1. Increase awareness on the benefits of apprenticeships2. Increase opportunities for uptake of apprenticeships3. Improve the quality of the apprenticeships4. Identify and remove policy obstacles to engage in apprenticeshipsThe main activities and deliverables of the project:50.000+ SMEs through awareness raising, 1.200 SMEs through learning networks and 100 SMEs through pilot programmes to improve the quality of their apprenticeships. The project will cover 12 countries directly through collaboration with 13 national partners, which are split into 6 high engagement partners and 7 soft engagement ones. SMEs will be reached in all of these countries with the help of one strategic partner (European Vocational Training Association, EVTA) and one associated partner (EUROCHAMBRES). Through the inclusion of a small 'Seeing is Believing' grant scheme at least 5 more countries can be reached. The impact will continue after the project duration through the foreseen policy work (also related to the Pact4Youth) and dissemination of the results to a wide audience. The awareness raising material and quality assessment tool will remain available to SMEs after the project duration and the learning outcomes will be shared through an online Business Impact Map and policy recommendation. In doing so, the project provides long lasting support structures for SMEs to engage in apprenticeships.
