Our EVS project will involve three motivated volunteers from Italy, France and Greece. They will take part for 9 months, from November 2016, working with Amycos in the city of Burgos and its province. In further detail, the volunteers will be working closely with AMYCOS’s staff and will have the opportunity to learn according with the methodology of the “learning by doing”. They will be involved and assigned amongst three main lines of action in the NGO and the following activities:• The Development of Education and Awareness, for people from the local community, by helping the organization on the start-up of courses, workshops and different types of events with the purpose of knowing and promoting solidarity values. • Social Action, with its own volunteers, collaborating with others organizations in Burgos, carrying out daily supporting to immigrant people of the city in conditions of scarcity through the supporting the reception area, in language classes, school support learning, occupational workshops and leisure activities.• The promotion of the local and international volunteering, collaborating with Amycos staff through the creation of educational and cultural events, the development of draft cooperation projects and generic fundraising activities to sponsor and support the running of projects, and the development of new ideas.In this project, the volunteers will carry out an important role in a particular area because they will live a continuous cultural exchange with the users as well as with the workers and volunteers from Amycos. They will contribute with their own ideas in the execution of activities and evaluations, acting as witnesses of an international mobility project benefitting the organization and as well as gaining experience in the third sector and in citizenship in general.
