Buitenlandse stage in Londen en Nice
Date du début: 1 juil. 2016, Date de fin: 30 juin 2018 PROJET  TERMINÉ

CONTEXT This project is a continuation of previous projects under the Leonardo Da Vinci Programme. It is already the 9th year that the Ensorinstituut organizes internships abroad. We originally started with 4 years of internships in Helsinki. Then we went to London and this year we expand the project with internships in Nice. The project is constantly improved. We constantly evaluate, improve and expand if possible.OBJECTIVESWe want to prepare our students for the labour market and we want to improve their professional competences. Our students need to speak a foreign language (English or French) so that is really a good practice. We also want to improve the personal skills of our students : problem solving, self-reliance, co-operaration, communication, teamspirit, independence, initiative, dealing with conflicts, showing interest, dealing with customers and colleagues. Finally we want to encourage an attitude for Life Long Learning.PARTICIPANTSAll our final year students of Aesthetic Body Care, Haircare, Fashion & Sales, Commerce/IT/Accounting/Office and Languages, Stage Techniques, Hotel and Restaurant & Kitchen get the opportunity of doing an internship abroad. They have to apply for the job – just like in real life. We send approximately 12 students of Aesthetic Body Care, Hotel and Restaurant & Kitchen to Nice and approximately 28 students of Haircare, Fashion & Sales, Commerce/IT/Accounting/Office and Languages, Stage Techniques to London. The number of students depends on the interest of the students, their motivation and the number of students in class that year. The students do not have the money to finance this internship so that is why we apply for a scholarship for them. We also give the students our own evaluation form about the whole project. The teachers (accompanying persons) have a meeting to talk about all the experiences. With all this information we evaluate well and discuss how we will improve. Also with the intern places we discuss what can be improved for the following year. We repeat this flow 2 times because we apply for 24 months.DISSEMINATION OF THE PROJECTWe disseminate our Erasmus+ project via Facebook and our website. We invite the local press a few times to promote what we are doing. The students write a blog and give a PowerPoint presentation to their possible successors.RESULTS AND IMPACTThe project means a perfect showcase of all the different professions at our school. We are really convinced about the value for the education and personal development of the students. They will work on the European labour market so the European borders will be open. It is a unique opportunity for our students and it will be an unforgettable experience.LONGER TERM BENEFITSInternationalisation will become more and more a bigger part of education and in our school it is already becoming a tradition. Internationalisation is part of the policy and opinion of our school (school development plan, policy of internships, GOK-plan, dossier global citizenship, education plan). After all our positive experiences with the internships abroad we want to disseminate this project in our school and organize more mobilities for our teachers (jobshadowing, internship in a company or professional development course).
