Building European Identity
Date du début: 1 août 2016, Date de fin: 31 juil. 2018 PROJET  TERMINÉ

This project entitled 'Building European Identity' will offer 6 member of the College's support staff to attend 3 different courses in the areas of HR management, Careers Guidance and Internationalisation with course providers in the Czech Republic, Cyprus and Greece. It aims to underpin Erasmus+ objectives providing "opportunities for individuals to improve their skills, enhance their employability and gain cultural awareness".Within the NWRC strategic College Development Plan (2015-2018) a key aim under 'Key Priorities for our People' is "...to continue to develop the culture of continuous improvement to provide Service Excellence acknowledging the significant role support staff play in the delivery of the College's core business. Staff will be exposed to a broad range of training and development that will develop them as individuals. Opportunities for mobilities to develop and embed best practice on an international basis will be encouraged to further develop the support services for curriculum delivery." The focus of this project application relates to enhancing management and staff competences within our support staff team. The College has in the past focused mainly of opportunities for student mobilities or curriculum delivery staff to avail of mobility opportunities as part of their Continuous Personal Development (CPD) in line with teaching an learning needs. With our new FE Strategy for Northern Ireland - 'Further Education Means Business', which was launched in January 2016, placing increasing emphasis on the the embedding of international opportunities in to the learning provision offered, the College has identified the need to support and resource such government initiatives by appointing a European Affairs Officer in June 2015 and a Director for Internationalisation in January 2016. Consultations within the College have also identified that additional benefits will be gained by extending mobility opportunities to support staff in the areas of Human Resources, Career Guidance and within our International/European Office. By exploring best practice environments within the European context the activites within this project aims to provide beneficial insight in to HR practices, career guidance and internationalisation opportunities that will provide a wider European context to how our support departments deliver services to the students and staff that they support.
