Brücken der Menschlichkeit - Jugend stärkt Europa, Europa stärkt Jugend
Date du début: 1 mai 2015, Date de fin: 31 oct. 2016 PROJET  TERMINÉ

The Initiative Christians for Europe e.V ./ ICE conducts for 25 years political- social youth education, international youth exchanges and voluntary services, and thus combines civil engagement and intercultural learning. The project "Bridges of humanity" ("Brücken der Menschlichkeit") offers young people to carry out a service in social and youth centers which supports and connects human rights and international bonding, the principle of voluntariness, service, learning and taking responsibility. The current project is open for four participants whose period of service is 12 months. The the activity will take place in Tallinn / Estonia, Kavadarci / Former Republic of Yugoslavia Makedonia and in Sarajevo / Bosnia and Herzegowina. In general, the volunteers work 35 hours a week . The participants should be in the age of 18-30 years, motivated to engage in international youth work and open to a new social environment, language and lifestyle. Independent work and the willingness to acquire the Estonian language is expected . Belonging to a particular religion, institution or association is not a requirement. During the stay cultural exchange, the acquisition of linguistic and thematic competence and mutual learning from each other is the main focus. Another concern is the promotion of tolerance and respect for "others". Topics such as intercultural communication, human dignity and rights, inclusion, European Welfare and historical backgrounds for a common understanding of Europe are covered in seminars and theme evenings. Through these encounters international understanding, intercultural learning and the development of a single European feeling are promoted. The volunteers´ activity consists mainly of organising and conducting thematic workshops, providing information and creative ideas for the PR. Especially due to the independent participation in the field of youth work the volunteers can test their skills, enhance their expertise and make important contacts. The volunteers as well as the disadvantaged young people in the social and educational meeting centres will be strengthened by the EVS - for themselves and for Europe. Thus, intercultural understanding, responsibility for the convergence to a fair Europe and the reduction of racism is promoted not only among the project participants, but also at a regional and and international level.
