The project Broadening Horizons II is coordinated by MTÜ Noortevahetuse Arengu Ühing EstYES. Within this project, twelve volunteers come to Estonia for 10-12 months and contribute to the local communities in Tallinn, Koosa, Võru, Viljandi, Kilingi-Nõmme, Tabasalu, Kullamaa and Valga while working in kindergartens, public schools, youth centres, and in a youth club. On one hand, hosting international volunteers helps the receiving organisations to fulfill their goals on a local level by educating children and youngsters, promoting healthy lifestyle, fostering young people's artistic skills, creativity and (inter-)cultural awareness. On the other hand the volunteers have this amazing possibility to learn and experience all the different aspects of voluntary service so that they could be successful in their personal and professional lives in the future - meaning that during their EVS the volunteers will be more conscious of their personal abilities, learn to work in a different environment, learn another language, get more aware of different cultures etc. By introducing their culture, language, background and just even with their personality, these volunteers will will teach the children, parents, youngsters, organisations and local communities most valuable lessons to accept, appreciate and work together with young people from other countries, becoming therefore inter-culturally more aware, tolerant and open minded. The political and socio-cultural challenges we have in Estonia and the EU today, can influence people's rational thinking and tolerance. This project won't tackle these subjects directly, however will be an indirect reminder to learn, communicate, read, compare and try to understand, before making harsh conclusions based only on fear and lack of knowledge.Project Broadening Horizons II involves twelve long term EVS volunteers: one from Slovakia, one from Spain, four from Germany, two from France, one from Poland, one from Georgia and two volunteers from Armenia. The volunteers are working in fallowing organisations: Tallinna Kullerkupu Lasteaed, Tallinna Kullatera Lasteaed, MTÜ Montessori Koolitusühing, Tallinna Kuristiku Gümnaasium, MTÜ Koosa Noorteklubi, Tallinna Kihnu Lasteaed, Võru Lasteaed Punamütsike, Viljandi Avatud Noortetehas, Kilingi Nõmme Lasteaed Krõll, Tabasalu Noortekeskus, Kullamaa Keskkool, and Valga Lasteaed Kaseke.
