European voluntary service project „Volunteers for Tukums Region” will be implemented in two organizations – Association Positive Mind and Tukums municipality agency Tukums County Social Service departments – Youth Social centre and Disability Day Centre „ Saime”. Since establishment Positive Mind has been one of initiator which establishes idea of voluntary service in local society and promotes it among young people. Project „Volunteers for Tukums Region” aim is to popularize voluntary service as value in society, promoting society, especially children and youth interest and participation in voluntary work activities. Planned project activity is 12 months long European voluntary service. European voluntary service in Positive Mind will do volunteer from Portugal and in Tukums municipality agency Tukums County Social Service - Youth Social centre and Disability Day Centre „ Saime” volunteers from Italy and Germany. The target groups of the project are children, youth, and people with fewer opportunities, local volunteers and society activists. During volunteers` work they will find out other cultures, improve their foreign language skills, will receive better understanding of meaning and values of voluntary work. One of the volunteers’ activity will be blog writing. The aim of activity is to promote voluntary work and inform society about it. During project conclusion we will organize project closing activity for local society. During this activity we will introduce participants with activities implemented during the project, received experience and results as well we will inform about possibilities of local and international voluntary service.
