The project consisted of 3 activities: short-term EVS activity of 10 volunteers for 14 days, long-term EVS activity of volunteer Lubomir Chano, which was supposed to be for 12 months, but laster as a result for 5 months, and mobility of 2 youth workers from Slovakia to Russia. Both involved organizations Mladiinfo and SFERA viewed described activities as very important with an expectation of high impact not only on local community, but also on strengthening cooperation between 2 active youth organizations in Europe and Russia. The project was a continuation of good experience of both organizations with previous 4 EVS projects they have implemented together in the last 2 years. The project met all objectives of European Voluntary Service program, because it developed solidarity and promoted tolerance among young people, and in particular it fostered social cohesion in the European Union through common activities of volunteers from Europe in Russia, creating an atmosphere of unity and common development. Moreover, as the project had clear objectives of supporting and developing quality systems of children care and development, it contributed to developing such systems in Russia and encouraged Russian organization to use experience of foreign countries in this field. The project developed participation of young people from both countries - Slovakia and Russian Federation. The volunteers acquired new experiences, new skills, and gained independence. They goy in touch with different cultures and worked for a project useful for the local community of the hosting country. The volunteers learnt to live with people from different backgrounds, with different cultural traditions and acknowledged the diversity. They discovered Russia, with its social, economic, cultural realities beyond the stereotypes of traditional tourism. The sum of all these practices helped the volunteers to expand their point of view and to acquire new skills. Finally the youth short term youth worker mobility greatly helped to strengthen the cooperation for the future and allowed better understanding of local needs with a space for discussion of future projects ideas between Mladiinfo and SFERA.
