Bridgewater Global Learning Links Programme
Date du début: 1 juin 2016, Date de fin: 31 mai 2018 PROJET  TERMINÉ

Bridgewater is a growing urban primary school for 4-11 year olds based in Northampton Town, England currently with 540 children. We are moving from having two classes per year group to three classes per year group and already have three classes in Early Years, Year 1, Year 2 and Year 3. There are currently two classes in each of Years 4, 5 and 6. Extensive building work has been undertaken to accommodate the increase in numbers and we opened a new block of 9 classrooms in April 2015.We are an inclusive and creative learning community aiming to create well rounded individuals who develop skills for life. We aim that every individual is inspired to do their best whilst at Bridgewater and have a culture where the growth mind-set is embedded. We are a hub of the community working collaboratively with a range of organisations such as the local schools, University, The Teaching Alliance, local residents the Local Authority and different parent groups (nursery, parents forum and 'Friends' of Bridgewater - PTA). Our vision is one of inclusion which we summarise as 'Together We Learn'; this includes the whole community.Bridgewater performs well in the National and local league tables and is always seeking to improve. These collaborations are referred to later in the application. Therefore our project will mean that we can build upon what is already happening in our school and enrich it further thereby impacting positively on standards and inspiring the learners. It will sit well within our school development and monitoring and evaluation structures. It will enrich and inspire not only the participants but the whole school community and further with our outreach work. We would feel privileged to have access to the very best up to date research, training and pedagogy and as such would feel it is our duty to share our learning with others with enthusiasm. We are intending to send a wide range of teachers with a variety of skills sets who would relish the opportunity to access training of this quality and would be committed and expert in leading others to learn from their experiences. We are excited that we could have the opportunity to build international links for both the staff, children and all the community with which we anticipate would last way beyond the training project. Our objectives are to:1. Develop the pedagogy of the school through international insights in to other systems, approaches, cultures and beliefs.2. Develop the teaching skills of staff including support staff so that the children will benefit from a diverse , exciting pedagogy impacting positively on their learning and standards.3. Enrich our curriculum to make it fit for a modern world where globalisation is key for the children's futures.4. To share learning in an engaging, inspiring manner so that as many people as possible can benefit from the training opportunity. Our methodology for the project is through structured training courses. A total of 11 staff would have the opportunity to receive training in four different countries experiencing development in , Early Years practice, forest school, Spanish language and culture, Special education. The staff attending range from senior leaders to, class teachers and a higher level teaching assistant. They all have a passion and specialism for their chosen project subject and drive related projects already. It will naturally follow that they lead learning related to the training via our rigorous system of distributed leadership where learners thrive in a climate of enthusiasm where all are valued and mutually respected. The expectation and long term benefit is that that we carry out pre-course and post-course evaluations and feed back across our school, cluster, town schools and local authority. It will become an integral part of our outreach work supporting schools. It will support us to deliver outreach in further establishments.
