''BRASS -AGE'' Marseille-Lisbonne
Date du début: 31 janv. 2016, Date de fin: 29 nov. 2016 PROJET  TERMINÉ

Centre Social Romain Rolland is located in Marseille (Disctrict 10). Centre Social Romain Rolland and InterculturalEuropeu (CLUBE) carry out this project called ‘’Brass –Age ‘’. These two organizations undertake social and cultural actions in the disadvantaged suburbs (Zone d’éducation Prioritaire – ZEP) in Portugal and in France. They act mainly among young people (JAMO – Jeune avec moins d’opportunité).13 French teenagers and 13 Portuguese teenagers between 15 and 18 are involved. These organizations work with these teens and 4 social workers (2 from each country). These French young people are already known and informed about communicating and working with people from other countries. They have already been in touch with Morgane Masterman from CLUBE, when she came to present her organization in Marseille.6 young Portuguese people have already been identified because they have a great interest for this project. CLUBE offers French lessons with new educational methods. The French teenagers will meet the Portuguese teenagers in Lisbon from August 5th to August 14th.The project ‘’Brass-Age ‘’wants to help young people to go out from their country. Europe is an abstract concept for them, seen on TV, but not experienced. They will discover another culture with cultural activities, street art and art in the streets. The aim is to learn another language and to discover another culture. The teenagers involved in this project in Centre Social Romain Rolland worked with a local school (Castel Joli) and social workers (institut d’éducatrice Motrice (IEM) to improve sport fields and created a huge fresco on the school’s wall. They discovered a passion for street art. The other part of the wall has been painted this year. They let us know they wanted to learn more and share their experience with teenagers from another countries in order to discover their way of living. The teenagers from CLUBE are interested in street art and practice street art. New educational methods are used there too. Numerous artistic, cultural and sporting activities will take place. Portuguese teenagers showed a great interest in the project when it was presented in the suburbs. CLUBE managed to develop in the project. The ‘’Brass –AGE ‘’project will then be a real window opened for both groups. Stereotypes will fall down and teenagers will learn to live together in their suburbs. They will fell fully European and Europe will no longer be a virtual concept for them. The peoples’ Europe can only be with communication and learning to live with other cultures, other ways of life.Pictures of the numerous events (sport events, exhibitions, street visits, radio programs) which will take place, will be shown to local partners and institutions during a meeting which we will make an assessment of the project.
