"Bouwen aan de Europese school van morgen!"
Date du début: 1 sept. 2016, Date de fin: 30 sept. 2017 PROJET  TERMINÉ

"Building the European school of tomorrow""The present asks for action, the future asks for vision" J.-C. Trichet. We are eight primary schools of different educational networks. Two of the schools provide education for children with learning difficulties: basic supply type, type 2 (for children with severe mental retardation) and type 9 (children with autism diagnosis). The schools are located in the city of Kortrijk and within 20 km in the communities of Anzegem, Deerlijk and lzegem. It is a dynamic region with low unemployment, but deprivation has increased in recent years. All schools are joined in a consortium that was started up in 2005. All school principals have monthly meetings to set up innovation projects and to exchange "good practice". We all respect the own identities of each school. The teachers of the schools have regular joint staff meetings and seminars. They know each other and visit each other's class rooms. We have working groups on care, ICT and "working in kindergarten" (with a focus on transitional kindergarten and 1st grade primary school). They meet on a regular basis ,and exchange "good practice".The schools are facing major changes. In one school, almost the entire staff will be renewed within the next 10 years. There was a fundamental change in government policy about schools that provide education for children with learning difficulties. These schools have to reorganize themselves. The region has a growing number of refugees, which will have certain implications for all schools. Most schools of the consortium had an external audit. There are still big opportunities to grow on internal quality assurance. In accordance with the European Development Plan, quality development is included in the school curriculum . Now, the plan lacks vision and consistency. Traces of quality development are found in the training scheme for teachers as well.We want to learn to inspire our teams and guide them to a culture of quality development. Three schools in the consortium are familiar with learning in an international context. This kind of learning is a key to successful learning. With this project we want to develop a shared vision and an action plan for quality improvement. We would like to follow courses from the Eekhoutcentrum in Flanders (Belgium), "Learning tomorrow“ (Malta), "Finnish lessons for EU schools (Finland) and" Teach learn and quality "(Portugal)".We focus on training of principals and support staff members and teachers. We would like to ask for 29 mobilities (spread over three courses) for the eight schools. This equates to a course for 3 to 4 people per school. The gained knowledge will always be shared and put on a website. We will share the insights with our teachers, pupils, parents and all the partners of the schools.During each course, we will contact people from other countries to set up a broad European network for implementation. Teachers will be encouraged to set up communication—projects with colleagues from abroad.(E-twinning, Skype with an European classroom ...) Good practices will be written into the school curriculum. We seek the following results:-At the end of the course, each principal (with the supporting staff members) should have established the layout for its vision and an extensive quality management project (with a step by step timeline for implementation) will develop and write a broad-based plan for quality development. Both, vision and project, should allow for the specific needs of each school. The committee of the consortium will encourage and monitor its proper implementation.- Increased well-being and pupil involvement in learning. Pupils learning in a safe and stimulating classroom and school environment. Pupils having more insight into their own learning and its evolution.- Increased parents' satisfaction about the school quality.- Increased involvement and job satisfaction amongst teachers and staff.
