Problems addressed• different management systems in German and Polish municipal administrations (completely incompatibel), resulting in co-operation in-efficiency• small knowledge among lower level Polish and Czech municipalities about European co-operation, resulting in low intensity of practical co-operation and involvement in Interreg• no trans border experience with the planning and development of infrastructure, difficulties with trans border spatial planning in Interreg projectsObjectives• establish a close communications network between the local and regional decision makers from economics, politics, tourism, training, culture, sport, youth, etc.• form a local initiative of 20 German and Polish municipalities in the border region of Eurodistrict "Mittlere Oder", evaluate its results, and if proved, transfer this methodology to German-Czech border region and possibly others• set-up of a German-Polish service agency for the new Eurodistrict "Mittlere Oder" with focus on stimulation of territorial co-operation Approach and methodology• joint conferences, workshops, seminars• joint service agency (acting like a „stage director “ for the territorial co-operation)• know-how transfer by job shadowing, internships and short study visits Expected Results: • creation of a close trans border network of local stakeholders• Development of proved new structures and tools on Polish and Czech side• Internet based trans border multilingual communication and information system
