Bonn International Model United Nations/Simulation Internationale des Nations Unies de Bonn 2014
Date du début: 1 sept. 2014, Date de fin: 28 févr. 2015 PROJET  TERMINÉ

Bonn International Model United Nations/Simulation Internationale des Nations Unies de Bonn 2014 is a conference for students at which the United Nations and the European Union will be simulated. During a six month period the conference will be prepared and thoroughly evaluated. The five-day conference itself will take place in the World Conference Centre Bonn, a location rich in history, prospectively in early December. About 100 young people from the partner organisations will have helped to realise this event to which up to 200 participants enlisted in different degree courses and from all around the world will attend. There, they will address the issues of “Cultural Conflicts – Building Bridges through Diplomacy” in different committees, among them the Council of the European Union. The paramount goal is to make the functioning of the United Nations and the European Union more transparent, tangible and attractive for young people and to allude to current global and European conflicts. A participant is granted the opportunity to experience international policies and understand oneself as a constructive part of a continuing process. About 50 nationalities will take part in this endeavour of international understanding and tolerance through this common intercultural experience. Thereby, participants will be representing a country and have the opportunity, by familiarizing themselves with its position and interests, to see this country in a different light. Ultimately, participants will be empowered to come up with creative problem-solving strategies through guided research and must defend their ideas in formal sessions and in a foreign language (English, French or Spanish). Rhetoric and argumentative precision will be skilled as well as the ability to compromise, in order for a common resolution to be generated.
