The primary school ‘Cesar Franck Athenaeum’ has been organising a successful bilingual kindergarten in German and French for three years. We have implemented bilingual lessons for the first and the second school year in September 2014. We’ve found a partner: ‘Ceip Tomas De Ybarra’, a bilingual school in Tomares, Spain. We exchanged good practice examples, i.e. methods and teaching material. Any useful information and results have been given to ‘AG bilingual’, which is a working group for the development of bilingual lessons. It is composed of members from the following areas of expertise: inspection, scientific support, principals and other representatives from the kindergarten and the primary school. They have introduced the relevant project results in the current bilingual education programme of the German-speaking Community, which is already implemented for the first four school years. During the next two years the project will be extended to the fifth and sixth school years. Therefore, the job shadowing proves already to be quite sustainable.
