The project "Security and Law in Europe" is intended for the full-time students of “Bezpecnostne pravni akademie Ostrava” (loosely translated as the "Security and Justice Academy"). There are two branches of study:
- Bezpecnostne pravni cinnost (Security Law Agenda)
- Verejnospravni cinnost (Public Law Agenda)
The branch of study called “Bezpecnostne pravni cinnost” is focused on areas of law, criminalistics and professional self-defence. The graduates are able to work in security services (in state as well as private sector).
The branch of study called “Verejnospravni cinnost” is focused on areas of law, law administration, social policy, economics and cadastral administration. The graduates are able to work in state and local authorities, solicitor´s offices, real estate agencies and other administration.
The school´s main target is to offer developing practical professional skills so that the students would be able to use their experience at labour market. That is why the school organizes practical training in co-operation with potential employers as well as specialized excursions, discussions, competitions and courses. Moreover, the project days focused on practising particular model situations are also organized.
The project "Security and Law in Europe" brings all above mentioned activities into wider, European context. The students will have the chance to compare their knowledge and skills with practice in different countries. They will also familiarise themselves with the principles how the security services and local authorities work abroad. Finally, improving language skills is another relevant benefit.
During the training, the students will perform practical activities according to their specialization. In addition, they will take part in particular excursions, discussions and workshops.
The selection of students will take place in two rounds. After a written test, certain number of students will advance to an oral part, where the participants and substitutes will be chosen. Both parts, written and oral, will check ability to communicate in technical and everyday English language, and then basics of language and facts of the host country.
The project is intended to take place in two terms.
Firstly, in October 2014, 15 selected students of the branch of study “Security Law Agenda” will go to Portuguese city called Barcelos where the partner organization “Intercultural Association Mobility Friends” will ensure professional training in co-operation with local organizations such as security agency “G PROTECT” and municipal authorities. Professional workshops and discussions with the representatives of municipal police and fire brigade will be part of the mobility stay as well.
Secondly, in March 2015, 16 selected students (8 of the branch of study “Security Law Agenda” and other 8 of the branch of study “Public Law Agenda”) will go to Cordoba in Spain where the partner organization “Europroyectos LdV” will ensure professional training.
The students of Public Law Agenda are intended to work in local authorities, real estate agencies (INMOBILIARIA FÁTIMA, INMOBILIARIAL CALIFAL, TECNOCASA CORDOBA) and marketing corporation CASABANK.
The students of Security Law Agenda are intended to work in local security agencies (SEGURIDAD INTEGRAL SECOEX S.A., PROTVISE VIGILANCIA, TEMPLAR SEGURIDAD, A.M. SEGURIDAD, ANUBIS VIGILANCIA Y SEGURIDAD). There will be also ensured professional excursions at Faculty of Criminalistics (University in Granada) and at a local prison.
Both partner organizations have been chosen on the basis of direct experience within the previous project called “Eurocitizen – Europe as one state”, which was included in the programme Leonardo da Vinci.
The partner organizations will also ensure accommodation, full board, local transport and cultural programme.
After the participants come back they will work out a final report (presentation) where the gained knowledge, skills and experience will be summarized. In the form of a web presentation, the report will be presented to other students of our school. All the gained knowledge and findings will be also hand on to twin schools of “Bezpecnostne pravni akademie” located in the cities of Brno, Pilsen, Male Svatonovice and Prague. There are around 30 other schools in the Czech Republic which offer the similar branches of study guaranteed by the Ministry of Interior of the Czech Republic. These schools are also intended to be informed about our project.
