"Beyond - rethinking Intercultural learning"
Date du début: 28 mars 2015, Date de fin: 28 oct. 2015 PROJET  TERMINÉ

The Seminar “Beyond” was inspired by a previous Training Course named “DayCul”. The team of Beyond Borders found the idea proposed in “DayCul” very affine to their concept of Interculturality and decided to carry on the idea and add their innovation and personal features to let the project have a new life. The Seminar lasted 6 days included arrival and departure from the 28th of June to the 3rd of July (2015). The venue has been Corato, Italy, a place in which are poured several cultures thanks to the geographical position on the Mediterranean sea. The partners of this project were organizations from Albania, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Latvia, Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Spain and Turkey. We did our best to collect partner from all around Europe and with full competences and interest on the theme of the Seminar. Intercultural Learning was the main object that was processed and to reworked during the Seminar. We investigated around the elements that turn around the culture in the daily life as food, language, relation towards other cultures and roles in society. Participants have become acknowledged about the key concepts of intercultural learning and have understood the meaning of non formal education, have raised their awareness on different cultural environments, through methods and tools such as team building activities, practical workshop, personal skills improvement and outdoor activities. Participants dealt with the experience of meeting different cultures, have faced obstacles that occur during developing intercultural dialogue, conflict issues and peace building and have found possibilities for overcoming these problems. The Seminar has has a strong impact on the participants and more on the local community, as the participants have become more competent on the subject, and the local people have seen what is the meaning of Interculturality under a different light, in a way that goes “Beyond”.
