Between
Date du début: 1 juin 2015, Date de fin: 30 nov. 2015 PROJET  TERMINÉ

Our project will bring together youth from Hungary, Estonia, Latvia, Poland and Germany to participate in a 10 day workshop at Castle Bröllin where they will work together in groups through the creative mediums of video, art and theatre in conjunction with music composition on a project theme called: “BETWEEN". The aim of this intercultural exchange is for youths of the same age to share their personal experiences and values and as such explore the differences within the family sphere and the traditions of their representative countries. The intended outcome is to create a tolerance and strengthening of social cohesion. We will raise questions such as; How important it it to bridge the gap between finishing school and the next step in life? What do you need to help you to become an independen adult? Who and what influences your decision as to which place/location you choose, and which subject? Are there differences between the opinions of different nationalities? Using the answers to these questions, what does it mean to enable us to create together a more united Europe. With the answers to these questions we will work through the differences and common characteristics and above all flesh out the experiences in their individual everyday lives via a creative process which will culminate in a group performance. Finally we will invite youths from the regions of Greifswald and the neighbouring region of Wojewodschaft in Poland to watch the performance. Overall the project aims to promote European cooperation amongst youths so as to diminish existing prejudices. The commonality of life, learning and working together inspires an understanding of each other's culture and draws from the participants a mutual respect of their cultures while at the same time developing individual growth and expanding community horizons. The effect of an international youth gathering such as this in our region will have a positive impact that otherwise could not be experienced due to inherent stereotypes of other regions. With the partnering of several countries a precedent would be set to establish new horizons relative to dissolving these existing stereotypes and would work as a stepping stone towards future discussions and collaborations.
