The main idea of the project is to get together 42 youth workers and experts, coming from Bulgaria, Macedonia, Turkey, Greece, Romania, Albania, Croatia, Serbia and Slovakia and to pilot “Better together” training program, promoting inter-cultural tolerance, combating discrimination and fighting against the stereotype of confrontation, extremism and hate speech among young people, living on the Balkans territory. The training course will also emphasize on the influence of media as a tool for promoting human rights, cultural latitude and No Hate speech movement in the local context. As a result of their collaborative work at the time of the training, the participants should design a sample of an interactive campaign /both on-line and off line/ and create tools/printed and media products/ for its implementation among schools around all participating countries as a follow-up activity.The main project objectives are:- To establish, train and develop a team of youth workers - multipliers of the “Better Together” training program;- To support and encourage the development of various products and tools (i.e e-tools) for learning as part of an interactive campaign “Better Together” to promote human rights and tolerance at the Balkans;- To establish a network of schools and institutions around 9 Balkan countries, where to test these tools and to disseminate the results of the campaign among at least 2000 young people. The project's implementation will pass through 3 stages: Preparation (3 months), Training course (7-13 November, 2016) and Follow-up campaign in local school and institutions (for at least 4 months).42 youth workers, (NGO representatives, youth leaders, teachers, students, trainers, facilitators and external experts) will take part in the Training course "Better Together", which will take part in Plovdiv (Bulgaria) from 4 to 10 of April 2016. Partnering organizations will be responsible for the selection, orientation and motivation of local participants. The coordinating organization will take care of all logistics (such as training venue, accommodation, travel, insurance, etc.) as well as for the entire implementation of the course. The training program will be based on the methods of non-formal education and will combine theoretical and practical workshops, individual and group tasks, open spaces, reflections as well as site visits in schools and public institutions in Plovdiv. The TC will be lead by international team of trainers (Bulgaria, Macedonia and Serbia). University Professor in Balkan history (Rumjana Komsalova), a journalist (Dimitar Semkov) and an expert in European youth issues (Ljubomir Todorov) will be involved in particular workshops at the time of the training too. In the project implementation the following working methods will be used:- Research and analyze;- Non-formal teaching and learning;- Games and role plays; - Promotion , advertising and dissemination;- Peer to peer education- Evaluation and assessment;We expect that with the implementation of this project we will be able to raise young people’s awareness about the role of human rights and their past and future dimension in everyone’s life. Since media is a very influential factor for setting up stereotypes, we will focus the No hate speech movement as a means for creating peaceful environment for young people living both at the Balkans and all around Europe.
