Better Educating - Better Learning
Date du début: 1 sept. 2015, Date de fin: 31 août 2017 PROJET  TERMINÉ

Europe till 2020 aims at getting better results for students’ international Evaluations. Teaching staff in the 21st century needs a radically broader and more sophisticated set of competences than before to help students reach higher results. A considerable proportion of teachers feel that they require more professional development than they receive. Developing the competences of teaching staff and school leaders, including those who have been in the profession for a long time, is a continuing and increasingly urgent priority in all Member States. This project offers a new approach to teacher‘s evaluation in a collaborativly innovative practice, building support by educators, creating more effective tools for assessment/self-assessment and hereafter in cooperation with school leaders to focus on the best ways for continuing professional development. Project is aimed at creating a mechanism to increase the quality and efficiency of education by strengthening the profile of the teaching professions through: promoting collaboration, peer learning and integrating good practice and new methods in their daily activities to deliver high quality teaching, deal with complex classroom realities, according to the prepared school leaders’ training programme; creating e-platform and enabling school leaders’ and teachers’ professional usage of assessment and self-assessment tools in order to improve their skills and competencies; creating training-teaching program, new tools and using eTwinning platform to improve our teachers’ competencies to use the modern technology in their classrooms actively and to enhance digital integration in learning, teaching, training. and finally, strategic planning of relevant continuing professional development for teaching staff in order to support them in developing their competencies hand in hand with the aims of the organisation and to strengthen leadership roles in education. Seeking to address these objectives two main intellectual outputs will be developed: 1. Competence Development Guide for Better Teaching – to create a new approach to teaching practice evaluation and to promote school leaders’ and teachers’ development of skills and competences when dealing with diverse school realities. 2. E-Learning Platform for 5 Digital Competences – to enhance digital integration in learning, teaching activities and to strengthen the profile of the teaching professions enabling them to acquire other key competences (e.g. language, mathematics, learning to learn, cultural awareness). These outputs will be created, evaluated and tested in cooperation of all eight project partners: 1 at a time: a state institution, 1 training institution and 2 schools from both countries. The methodology is based on a new role of educator as a facilitator to ensure teachers’ participation in coherent professional development, OERs and use of online tools tailored for school staff. The peer learning method will help teachers and school leaders to strengthen their professional skills. The new ICT tools will be the right stimulus for teachers’ evaluators to update their approach to teachers’ practice and their own evaluation in the way of relevant continuing professional development. Each of the partner regions will benefit from this improved knowledge and competence by utilising staff at further in-service training events across the region and nationally. In-service training programmes will provide an opportunity to disseminate the project results to teachers, leaders and all stake holders. They will increase the knowledge and understanding about the necessity to develop the process of assessment at school level increasing professional competencies and regarding better achievements. The continuing professional development of teaching staff cannot be seen in isolation from the development of the school as a whole. Thus, the project contributes to improving the efficiency of schools by helping educational leaders maximize the impact of their work.
