The main transit streets in Kraslava (LV) andZarasai (LT) as parts of A6 road, are integralelements of international transit corridors’ netcrossing Latvia–Belarus and Lithuania-Latviaborders and are the historical centres of bothtowns. Due to the growing traffic the qualityand safety of the streets is in critical situation.The project objective is to develop a betterand safer road infrastructure and physicalenvironment in Lithuanian and Latvianborder territories by upgrading transit streetsin Kraslava and Zarasai thus eliminatingthe physical obstacles for cross-bordercooperation and local development.The project contributes to improving thequality and safety of transit roads as theprepared technical street upgradingprojects, topographical and geologicalmeasurement plans, design solutions andlightening projects are the main preconditionsfor attracting financing forinfrastructure works.
