Context/background of project PHIN Consulting & Training is a company in Croatia with a mission to provide necessary assistance to representatives of public institutions, NGOs, SMEs, and education institutions in preparing EU funded project applications. Employees have few years of relevant and proven experience in this field, but further education and advancement is necessary to build skills and include creativity in approach to clients in Croatia. Poland has been very successful in preparing and running EU funded projects for the few past years, and our company aims to build on that positive experience. This project aims to organize 2 activities through which two employees will receive training within partner organization in Lodz, the Foundation for the Development of the Region of Łódz who have been organizing trainings for representatives of local administration and providing innovative training of trainers programs. Objectives of the project, number and profile of participants, description of activities Objective of the project is to strengthen capacities of employees at the PHIN Consulting & Training, a company from Zagreb. This will be done through organizing two mobility activities, both from Zagreb to Lodz, a city near Warsaw in Poland. Two employees will visit region of Lodz in organization of Foundation for the Development of the Region of Łódz, where they will receive trainings; how recognize the needs and potentials of small municipalities for applying projects to be financed through EU funds, learn about best practices of EU projects from Lodz region, learn to design training programs for representatives of small municipalities, to conduct Training Needs Assessment, prepare interesting presentations with motivation techniques and active presentation techniques. Most important part of the mobility action is to see various local projects financed through EU funds, such as new tram lines and trams in Lodz, reconstruction of local schools to achieve energy efficiency and drastic savings in utility bills, and wastewater and waste management projects. One employee has a master degree in Economics, major in finance, and is experienced in preparing successful applications for education institutions in Croatia under IPA Human Resources IV component. Second employee, holds a position in company as assistant in preparing EU applications, has a master degree in languages (Polish and Croatian) and has a few years experience as tourist guide in Croatia. Methodology to be used in carrying out the project Partner organization will handle the task of organizing mobility actions. Methodology is to plan trainings and site visits to project locations, to name trainers and consultants from Partner organization who will take part in activities, to identify potential site visits, and to arrange visits with project owners (local municipality administration). Participants will prepare reports of best practices to use as examples in Croatia, and they will also record their experiences so they could write and publish a blog. Results, impact, longer term benefits After successfully finishing mobility action, two employees will strengthen their capacities in matters of preparing creative projects proposals and developing trainings for small local communities in Croatia. Longer term benefits should include more and better EU funded project applications for smaller local municipalities in Croatia, either helping them through consulting or training services, organized by more skilled and experienced employees of the Phin Consulting & Training company in Croatia.
