Best Practices Benchmarking. Observación y evaluación de buenas prácticas en Educación

IES Pobra do Caramiñal is a secondary school located in Galicia, in a coastal municipality of almost ten thousand inhabitants. It has about 440 enrolled students and 60 teachers, teaching Secondary and High schools, as well as Vocational training The students come mostly from the municipality of Pobra do Caramiñal, with a high component of rural origin. IES Pobra do Caramiñal is committed to improving the quality of education, participating in many training projects and innovation planns: PLAMBE, COMBAS Project, Bilingual Sections (CLIL), ABALAR Program, CUALE Program Projects EuropeosErasmus + (formerly Comenius ) Teacher Training Plan. We want to achieve a higher level of implementation of key competencies in general and ICT competences in particular, and to promote multilingualism,, as well as optimize the organization of work at the level of school and classroom, in order to obtain results in line with what is expected from the current school. Participation in transnational projects is one aspect that our cschool gives great importance, and that allows us to expand the European dimension and cooperation with other schools, contacting innovative educational practices and organizational methods in different countries. In recent years our center has participated in four European projects Comenius, both bilateral and multilateral, and KA1 teacher training projects, which have resulted in a projection of the center both in nternal and social levels. Our School wants to come into contact to the innovative educational practices and organizational methods in different European countries , including , for quality and results , highlights Finland. In this context we implemented this project, attending a training course for teachers in Finland : " Best Practices Benchmarking " as a first step for the development of subsequent programs , both KA1 and KA2 , which will be facilitated by the participation of six teachers from our school along two calls in two successive courses . Participating teachers were selected for their active profile in terms of their involvement in innovation and training, project coordinators, or participation in school management. Each course run for 5 days in Helsinki and Tallin , where participants came into direct contact with Finnish and Estonian teachers and Schools, approached and compared the educational and school organization practices in both countries , and the countries of the other participants in the course . They also participated in workshops on different topics to improving the quality of education issues . Finally, participants designed an improvement plan for the School, using the examples of good practices observed in many aspects : digital learning, attention to diversity , school organization or work organization in the classroom. The observation "in situ" , visiting different schools, did reveal the daily activities, and the exchange of experiences with the Finnish teachers represented an additional value to the com pletion of the course. The educational community will see benefit in many ways as a result of the accomplished project . We will use the skills and experiences acquired in the Benchmarking course, evaluation of best practices in education , using the reports developed as a product of the course to colaborate to improve aspects of educational innovation in our PEC , the document that sets the lines in the medium and long term school performance.
