The Erasmus +(KA1) project “ Career orientation: learning not for school but for life! – supporting self-determined students to make the appropriate indivual career's choice” aims at improving the vocational orientation measures for students of the particiating schools by assisting them in starting an appreticeship or continuing education after having achieved a basic school-leaving certificate.In order achieve this the resources of the participating schools are to be exchanged and linked. Each school can be seen as an expert for one thematic field: Santarem/Portugal (analytical competence in students' skills and intelectual resources, Hoorn/ Netherlands (coaching to support personality formation and introducing the concept “entreprenasium” with a view to the establishment of a higher secondary school level at Oberschule Westercelle), Marinha Grande/Portugal (language competence in the context of career choice and further school education), Surahammar/Sweden offers a sophisticated career choice concept from which Oberschule Westercelle would like to benefit. The Finnish school offers valuable suggestions to improve the staff competence which is undoubtedly needed to integrate further career orientation effectively at schools.By job-shadowing the different requirement elements will be found out for Oberschule Westercelle in order to put more emphasis on the idea of “Learning for life!” and to lead an increasing number of career-oriented students to professional activity.By attending European training sessions teachers of Oberschule Westercelle will be qualified to observe, assess and provide advice to the students with regard to their future plans. This measure is aimed at reducing youth unemployment and the number of dropouts from training and education.In order achieve this the resources of the participating schools are to be exchanged and linked. This measure is aimed at reducing youth unemployment and the number of dropouts from training and education.Through participating in the European Conference the Head of School will seek and maintain international contacts striving for a networking of successful career orientation projects. According to qualification and willingness for co-organisation of internal teachers' training ( like a propagator for the newly gained knowledge) and concept development the teachers will be sent to the partner schools after having undergone the selection process. To achieve an increasement of the motivation for starting an apprenticeship or reaching a higher study level the results of the different project activities will firstly be summarised in goal-orientated evaluation sheets. Second step, the results will be put at the colleagues' disposal during the internal teachers' training at Oberschule Westercelle.The communication platform Etwinning will be designed and managed by teachers of Oberschule Westercelle to ensure an international school networking for all partner schools in regard of their materials and activities.Existing bodies of Oberschule Westercelle (school board, control group, expert conferences and chairpersons of expert conferences) decide on appropriate elements which are to be integrated into the school programme or concepts to guarantee the sustainability of this modified career orientation programme and the best possible start into professional life for our students.
