The participating trainees of all cooperation partners, the school, the PTB and other training companies will gain professional experience partly in non- manufacturing businesses during their training. For their prosprective career a practice - stay is very important , in which they will gain an insight into the production processes and procedures in which they participate.The main objectives of exchange are:The trainees will become acquainted with production processes and learn to understand these processes by interning at the manufacturing companies.Based on their acquired knowledge and their social skills they will figure into the production in team work with apprentices and skilled workers of the destination country . They communicate with each other in foreign languages and solve their problems together as a group .All participants are at least 18 years old and they are in the second or third year of their vocational training in German 'Duales System'. The apprentinces gain their knowledge in the fields of "cutting tolls mechanics", "mechatronics technicians", "technicians of information technology", and "technicians of devices and systems". Most of them are trainees of the Volkswagen AG, the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt ( PTB) but other technical professions are likely.In these professions , there are always about 25% of female trainees .All of them already have good knowledge and practical experience in their companies . They are able to work independently and to work in small teams. This experience will rise during their training and especially during this projects.It is planned to do the exchange wih four groups, that means two groups a year with 16 participants. The trainees and instructors of the companies and the school are involved in this project. They pick the appropriate trainees, prepare them and briong them to the destination country. There the participants are supervised by competent people of the foreign school an/or company. It is also planned that the participants will work in peer groups with students of the destination country.The focus of the exchange in on the company internship. The participants should gain a lot of experience in the field of production processes , encountered problems and solutions in the workplace. For example, at the company PREVAC (Poland) the participants become acquainted with the production of a high-tech-product from development to delivery to the customer. Our trainees are involved in all steps.At SGL Carbon (Poland) the students accompany meintenance professions and help them with their work. At RAFAKO (Poland) the students will learn how to weld and finally they will help manufacturing products.The trainees for metal cutting mechanics should learn in addition to production processes abroad at Skoda in the Czech Republic , the conditions and challenges of a large multinational corporations.Throughout the internship period of four weeks, they work in small groups with Polish und Czech students and employees of the companies. The knowledge of foreign languages (English ) will constantly increase. Work orders , problem descriptions , arrangements , solutions and work reports are communicated in English.In addition to the professional content the visit will include a cultural component.The partner school ZSM allows our students to participate in sports activities at school ( Sport AG ), where they do sports together with Polish students.The local advisor Mr. Hajdasz will organise some excursions and cultural events , such as a two-day weekend trip to Krakow , Wieliczka and Zakopane. Participants can decide whether and what further trips can be made. Mr. Hajdasz propose to other points of interest , from which they may select. The city-tour of Raciborz will be offered by local history teacher.Such a program for cultural education field trips is organized for student interns in the Czech Republic by Mrs Lund Balounová and includes besides exploring the nearby area and historic sites a visit to the capital city of Prague with its historical significance for the development of Eastern Europe .
