Berufliche Kompetenz durch europäische Mobilität
Date du début: 1 juin 2015, Date de fin: 31 mai 2017 PROJET  TERMINÉ

The project "competence through European Mobility" organized by Georg-Kerschensteiner-Berufskolleg in Troisdorf, Germany, targets youth without a place to train in a company, taking part in a preparatory full-time training course over one year which qualifies them for an apprenticeship in the area of motor mechanics. By participating in the above mobility the trainees have the opportunity to acquire skills and knowledge that are relevant for coping with work situations throughout Europe. Apart from improving their foreign language and intercultural skills the project above all serves to expand and develop personal and social competencies among the participants and thus increases their chances of obtaining a place to train and eventually a job as a motor mechanic later on. The mobility involves the participation of eight German trainees in a two-week training exchange with our partner organization in Viborg, Denmark. The trainees are supposed to take part not only in lectures and classes but also in practical training units taking place in the school-based workshops. Apart from learning and working together, the German and Danish trainees will participate in cultural and freetime activities as well. Participants in the project will be prepared with regard to language, intercultural differences, practical and training issues by experienced teachers of our college both during classwork (English, Politics lessons) and in extracurricular modules tailored to their needs. A training agreement set up for each participant before the journey will grant controllability of the learning goals and give orientation. After returning to Germany each Participant will be awarded the Europass Mobility which will be an asset for future applications for a training place or job. Monitoring of the mobility will be ensured by an experienced teacher accompanying the under-age participants throughout their stay in the host country and allow him or her to monitor the learning progress and intervene in case of difficulties. The above mobility will open up new perspectives enabling the participants to gain crucial experience, personally as well as regards their language skills. It will further enhance their own motivation for work and reduce inhibitions to communicate in a foreign language (English). To sum up, by organizing the above project we hope to raise awareness for the benefits of European mobility not only with the students / trainees of our college but also with the local enterprises of the Rhein-Sieg-Region. Both with regard to youth unemployment as well as lack of qualified workers the programme Erasmus+ provides new perspectives in terms of work and can further contribute to think and act as Europeans.
